Appraisal

Yesterday, on behalf of the leadership team, Scott Kerr ordered an appraisal on the property. This is one of the steps required for financing and will help us to better assess the value.

Adams Township Rt. 228 Development Meeting

This evening Tom Bice will be attending a Adams Township meeting that will discuss future development of Rt. 228. Should be interesting!

Interviewing Construction Management Company

The Leadership from Discovery met with CMI Construction Management tonight. CMI presented a description of their services and how they could help Discovery in our process. We like the idea of having a construction management company on board from the beginning as we engage the architect to help us navigate the span between creativity/vision and reality/cost. Beyond My Life Giving Update - 5/17/09

Proposal

After consulting with Kim Ford (our corporate real estate representative and member of Discovery) and our real estate attorney, we submitted a proposal for purchase with option agreements for the property today. The owner is planning to look it over with his advisors and get back to us next week.

Site Investigation

Today Tom Bice and I met with Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. to discuss obtaining their services as we determine the cost to balance the site and figure out best placement for phase 1 building. CEC will get back with us in two weeks with some initial information.

We have already used CEC in initial concept drawings and phase 1 environmental study. We want to be good steward of the money raised and ensure that we investigate the site thoroughly. CEC is a great company. Check out their site in our ‘project links’ section to the right.

Supplemental Financing

This afternoon Troy Hammond and I met with a local organization affiliated with churches like Discovery in the area called Hunter Trust. We discussed some beneficial options for Discovery to borrow some additional monies at a good interest rate to help supplement our primary loan.
